Chambers Park Presentation

To receive deputation from Chambers Park Residents Association.
Mr Pat McGarry and Ken Mitchell attended the meeting and gave a report on the problems surrounding the unfinished state of Chambers Park, Kilcock, they stated that residents had problems with foul sewerage odour, incomplete and dangerous infrastructure, lack of road markings and road signage and various other problems within the estate that had not been completed by the developer. Mr McGarry stated that the objective of the report was to from a new residents association who would then meet and consult with the Health and Safety Authority and the building control section of this council with then intention of completing the unfinished works in Chambers Park and that the estate be taken in charge by the council.
An Cathaoirleach and the members thanked the gentlemen for attending the meeting and for the professionalism and quality of their presentation.
Councillor McEvoy asked if it was appropriate to use Section 180 of the Local Government and Planning Act 200 as amended to progress the taking in charge of Chambers Park, he also asked if there any exceptions could be made if the estate did not have direct access to a public road and if there was any national funding available to finish estates were the developer had gone into liquidation.
